We are now planning an on-the-spot workshop as a joint project with museums of Omi-takamiya-fu, Nara-zarashi, Fuji-fu(wisteria) in Tango(Kyoto), Jo-fu in Miyakojima(Okinawa). This tour includes experiencing spinning yarn into thread, dyeing, weaving cloth, town ranging, having meals with teachers of thread-making and weaving. You can learn about backgrounds and feel the atmosphere of where the cloth was made. |

Ramie spinning, visiting ji-ori(loom that sits on the ground), visiting museums, rambling Takamiya area where it used to be a post-town on the road from Kyoto to Edo and more.
